THE HARLEM GOLF ACADEMY

Recently I came across a most awesome phenomenon taking place in an unlikely spot. Thanks to the vision and determination of Tom Palmgren, Harlem now has a golf academy and is giving underprivileged youth a great opportunity to learn the game that will make a tremendous difference in their life. This is Urban Golf at its finest and next week I will head to NYC to meet with Tom and NYC officials who are directing The NYC First Tee Program. While Tom and The Harlem Golf Academy are an independent organization, they also promote The Metropolitan NYC First Tee Programming. I am very excited about what Tom is doing because he has taken his program to the heart of the city and making a huge impact with his pursuit of equality and justice. Now, Golf can be a social mobility tool and the real answer to success for millions of youth in the future.
